Proseguono i lavori del progetto "Libri Ponti di Pace!"

Nelle ultime due settimane il prof. Barbieri e alcuni suoi studenti si sono occupati di allestire la 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒎𝒂 𝒎𝒐𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒂 𝒅𝒆𝒅𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒕𝒂 𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒂 𝑭𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒊𝒔𝒄𝒂𝒏 𝑷𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑷𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒔. Arianna Leonetti, docente in Università Cattolica, ha dedicato la sua tesi di Dottorato e un libro di prossima pubblicazione alla storica tipografia francescana. Nelle scorse settimane ha curato l’esposizione fisica, che si terrà il prossimo novembre nella Curia della Custodia, e la mostra digitale.

Obiettivo del lavoro è quello di offrire 𝒖𝒏 𝒗𝒊𝒂𝒈𝒈𝒊𝒐 𝒏𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒂 𝒔𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒊𝒂 𝒅𝒊 𝒒𝒖𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒂 𝒊𝒎𝒑𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒆 𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒕𝒖𝒛𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒇𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆𝒔𝒄𝒂𝒏𝒂, la prima tipografia a stampare in arabo in Palestina e fondata nel 1847 nel Convento di San Salvatore. Il fondo conservato in Biblioteca e dedicato alla Franciscan printing Press conserva infatti sia i libri stampati nel corso dei secoli dalla tipografia, ma anche i materiali usati per la stampa, come i caratteri, le cassettiere e, ultimo ma non meno importante, il torchio.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 '𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐬 𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐠𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐞' 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐠𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐧!

Over the past two weeks, Prof. Barbieri and some of his students have been busy setting up 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐱𝐭 𝐞𝐱𝐡𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐝𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬. Arianna Leonetti, professor at the Catholic University, dedicated her PhD thesis and a upcoming book to the historic Franciscan Printing Press. She has curated the physical exhibition to be held next November in the Curia, and the digital exhibition.

The aim of the work is to offer 𝐚 𝐣𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐅𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, the first printing press to print in Arabic in Palestine and founded in 1847 in the Convent of St. Saviour. The collection preserved in the Library and dedicated to the Franciscan printing Press in fact preserves both the books printed over the centuries by the printing press, as well as the materials used for printing, such as typesets, drawers and, last but not least, the press.
